Büro be different…
New work is old hat. The workplace of the future is yesterday. As the world navigates between crises, it has become crystal clear that collaboration and flexible informal work are here to stay. Employers need to support this and encourage their staff to use the workplace to its full potential - which means the design of the workplace needs to reach its full potential.
Capper GmbH has carefully chosen brands that respond to the demands of the modern workplace, or as +Halle rightly say “ respond to the changing metabolism of the day”. We’ve ditched the suits in favour of less formal clothes, now we just need to give workers autonomy to choose where and how they work, for how long and with whom.
+halle Nest High collection
Many people like to be seated in a high position for short to medium-term meetings. But often the furniture they are provided for this task is uncomfortable. This is part of the psychology behind Form Us With Love’s Nest High collection: seated at bar height, yet with boardroom comfort. Power can be integrated into the tables and furniture can be specified in a huge range of fabrics and special RAL colours.
Lounge meets collaboration space, with BOB Split from Bla Station
We’ve seen a huge growth in informal collaborative lounge spaces in recent years. What was originally led by large tech-firms has long since become a firm expectation of Gen X Y and Z. Desks? What are they? Younger generations are more used to working informally (don’t forget to include some power sockets). Add a splash of colour and plan an eye-catching configuration to draw people in for collaborative work and social time.
Arco Move tables and Arco Close chairs
Consider different scenarios and bring flexibility into the mix. Arco Move tables have hidden magnets in the frames that allow these unique triangular tables on castors to ‘click’ together to form a cool shape, or they can be split apart for training, brainstorming or other flexible purposes. You can even stack them.
Because is there anything less inspiring than 3 people having a meeting at a 12 person table?

But that’s not to say that we don’t need our quiet time too. Whilst the social aspect of the modern workplace is the biggest magnet to bring people back to the office, people need space to concentrate on focus work. This means shelter, good acoustics and privacy. Add some natural materials like wood and calming tones and this will go a long way to support quiet productivity.
I regularly visit architects, designers and creatives to discuss ways of working and offer ‘furniture inspiration’ from Capper GmbH’s four unique collections - all specialised in ‘spaces where people come together’. If you would like to arrange an informal chat about your next project, please feel free to get in touch.
Whatever you do when designing a workplace - dare to be different!
